Like in many other alpine valleys in Ponte there has been an important artistic heritage and ethnographic patrimony.
The town hall decided to start up a collection of all the materials and tools that were probably abandoned in cellars, attics, stables, and deposits and to promote a campaign to sensibilize the citizens at a better and new approach towards the past culture.
Ponte’s museum is not as different as many others in the region but at least it has been completely created by the generous contribution of its population. The museum has been adapted in its permanent site that looks out to the prison’s garden. At the ground floor of a 16th century building (where there was originally the Jesuit monastery) on the road to S.Ignazio.

The tools collected have been placed in the halls and displayed in particular sections: the process of transformation of milk in butter e and cheese, the vineyards and the wine making process; the work in the fields: collection of hay, cultivation of potatoes and rye; The filature and texture of wool and hemp; The transports, the living spaces in the house: kitchen and bedroom.
It’s worthwhile to see the big mortar for the cleaning of dried chestnuts and a wooden pedal mole.

The ethnographic museum is open only on Sundays and holidays during the months of Ponte in Fiore (April, May).
